Create Conversational Experiences Using your AI Agent
Connect Flow XO to your AI agent, then describe what you want in everyday language. The agent can inspect your account, help build and improve automations, and use the tools you approve.
Give your agent the Flow XO skill before your first task. Point it to the Flow XO skill (SKILL.md) and say: “Read this skill and follow its best practices whenever you work with Flow XO.” If your agent cannot open the link, download the file and attach it to the conversation.
Get connected
- Copy the Flow XO MCP server URL:
https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp. - Add Flow XO to your AI client. Follow the short instructions for your client below. Choose a remote HTTP MCP server when asked for a connection type.
- Sign in and try it. Complete the Flow XO sign-in in your browser, select the right account, and approve the access you need. Then ask: “Which Flow XO account am I connected to? Show me what you can do here. Don't change anything yet.”
You do not need to copy an API key or browser token into a chat. If your AI client cannot add a remote MCP server, use one of the clients below.
Add Flow XO to your AI client
Claude or Claude Desktop
Open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, name it Flow XO, and paste https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp. Connect it to your Flow XO account, then enable it for the conversation. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner may need to add the connector for the organization first. Claude's connector guide has the current menu details.
Claude Code
Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http flowxo https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp
In Claude Code, run /mcp and follow the browser sign-in. Claude Code's MCP guide explains connection management.
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server. Name it Flow XO, paste https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp, choose OAuth authentication, and create the plugin. Then select it for your chat. Custom MCP connections require a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise/Edu workspace and the relevant workspace permission; your admin may need to set it up. See ChatGPT's setup guide.
Codex
Run these commands in your terminal:
codex mcp add flowxo --url https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp
codex mcp login flowxo
Complete browser sign-in. In the Codex app, you can also add a Streamable HTTP server from Settings → MCP servers using https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp. See Codex's MCP guide.
Cursor
Open Customize → MCP and add a remote server named Flow XO with https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp. If Cursor asks for a configuration file, add this entry to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then connect through the OAuth prompt:
{"mcpServers":{"flowxo":{"url":"https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp"}}}
See Cursor's MCP guide.
Gemini CLI
In a terminal, add the remote server and then sign in from Gemini CLI:
gemini mcp add --transport http flowxo https://mcp.flowxo.com/mcp
Start Gemini CLI and run /mcp auth flowxo. These instructions apply to Gemini CLI; the Gemini web app has a different connector system. See Gemini CLI's MCP guide.
What to ask your agent
Copy a prompt and replace the example names and URL with yours.
- Launch website support: “Set up a helpdesk assistant for my website at https://mywebsite.com. Use our existing help content, style a web widget to match our brand, and arrange live chat fallback when visitors still need help. Show me a preview and tell me which final steps I need to complete in Flow XO.”
- Find where users get stuck: “Look at the last 30 days of conversations for Some Agent. Are people getting their questions answered? Show a few examples and suggest the highest-impact improvements. Don't change anything yet.”
- Improve a flow: “Review my lead qualification flow. Where do people drop out or get confusing answers? Suggest a simpler version for my approval.”
- Use your knowledge base: “Answer this customer question from our help content. Link to the pages you used, and tell me if any part is not covered.”
- Plan a broadcast: “Help me prepare a product update for existing customers. Show the audience, message, and timing before anything is sent.”
Your agent can only use tools and account permissions available to your connection. For a broad request, it should complete the supported parts and tell you which steps still need to be done in Flow XO. Review changes before publishing or sending anything.
More help
Keep this online guide handy for setup and example prompts.
If connection fails, check that your Flow XO account has MCP access, your AI client supports remote HTTP MCP, and you selected the intended Flow XO account during sign-in. If a task fails, ask your agent which permission or step is missing. You can disconnect the client from your Flow XO connected apps at any time.
